In Search of the True Light Reviews

Christian Retailing Magazine — December 8,
2003
Mike Shreve, a former teacher of kundalini yoga at
university level, seeks to reach those with a New Age or Far
Eastern religious mind-set in In Search of the True Light. Shreve,
who testifies of his conversion to Christ in 1970, grew up
Catholic, but after a near-death experience in his college years,
he began studying under an Indian guru.
Shreve delves into the teachings of more than 20 religions,
noting their commonalities and contradictions. He compares their
belief systems on seven major doctrines. Shreve also answers 30
questions especially significant to those with a New Age or Far
Eastern understanding of religion.
The author approaches various religions and their adherents
with respect. As such, the book will appeal to non-Christian
readers. Christians also will find it to be a useful, structured
resource in the study of comparative religions.
